Yesterday, I'd just finished filling the tub up for Madeline when Chris called on the phone. He told me a crazy-but-true conversation that had taken place just a few short minutes ago. It went a little something like this:
From his office, Chris picks up this phone and dials our home number.
Madeline hears the telephone ringing (I don't - I'm filling the tub) and decides to pick the receiver up.
Madeline: Hiiiiiii!
Chris: Hi, Madeline!
Madeline: Dada!
Chris: What are you doing?
Madeline: Bath!
Chris: Are you going to take a bath tonight?
Madeline: Yeeeeaaaahhh!
Chris: Can I talk to Mom?
Madeline: No! Bye-Bye!
Madeline sets the receiver down in the cradle, and I never knew that she'd answered the phone until I talked to her dad several minutes later! I can't believe I missed something so cute ...
Oh that is too precious.
I don't think my toddler knows how to answer the phone. (That's probably a good thing!)

I have just come across your blog and was amazed to find another 'mom from away' in St. John's with a nursing toddler born on June 29, 2004... just like me. My name is Adrienne and my son is Owen, and I totally relate to a lot of your entries! Thanks for putting them out there.
