I never noticed all of the publicity that Mother's Day gets before. There have been special M-Day features on the radio all week long, local eateries are advertising M-Day brunches, and it seems that every morning tv program has mother-adolation on the agenda today. As far as I know, Madeline hasn't been to the card shop, so I expect that M-Day will be a non-event for us except for maybe going out for breakfast. Is it okay if I order these shoes for myself on her behalf, or is that just wrong? I'm kidding. Kinda. But I digress ...
,strong>The Top 5 things I'd like for Mother's Day
- Eight hours of consecutive sleep! I know that my Chris will never volunteer for night-waking duty(he's a smart one, and I'm a sucker), so Madeline would either have to sleep from midnight - 8 am on her own (unlikely), or else we'd have to hire some poor individual to deal with Madeline's 3 or 4 nightly wake-ups.
- Being able to toss out all of my nursing bras. Madeline, you like milk from a cup just fine ...
- To end the struggle over holding my hand in parking lots. Please. It scares me when my little girl lets go and runs off ...
- Stronger carseat laws in Canada. It's well documented that rear-facing installations better protect kids, even at higher weights, and it's ridiculous that a child's weight is used to determine booster-readiness here, instead of maturity.
- An extra two hours in the day that I could just spend relaxing in a warm bath, with my scrapbooking stuff, or on my yoga mat. That would all be good. ETA: I don't want more time to myself in a 24-hour day - I want a 26 hour day so that I can still spend my usual amount of time with Madeline and my husband.
Oh, I hope you get at least some of what you want. Really, a happy mama makes for a happy family, so you definitely deserve to get some pampering.

Happy mother's day! Here in MO they signed a new carseat law just today. It states that kids have to ride in a booster seat until they are 8! It has caused quite a bit of brew-ha-hah though.
Madeleine looks gorgeous in her kitty hat BTW, and I am pleased to hear she is gracing you with more words (wink wink nod nod, toddlers really do have a mind of their own, eh?).

I hope you are getting some of your wishes... this year, not just in one day.
Just an idea for some of the stuggles from a mom who has been there and done that... I don't know if it will work for you but it seemed to work sometimes for Nikyla. Rememeber no kid is perfect, they're kids!
Ok sleep issues I am no help. I changed up Nikyla's routine when I was trying to stop nursing, and stopped our night time before bed nursing.
Holding hands, I started to try to make games out of it while holding hands....like swinging your arms and skipping and singing a song, yes people look at you funny...
Let me know when there might be more hours in the day, I need them!!!
Happy Mother's Day to a fantastic mom :) You are doing an awesome job
