The back-to-sleep campaign might have helped Madeline get to the ripe old age of 21 months, but frankly, it isn't doing anything for her looks. First, there was the baby bald spot. Now, every morning, she wakes up with a frizzy mat of hair on the back of her head. Sometimes it appears to be threatening to turn into a dreadlock.
Sometimes, after I've dampened and detangled her hair in the morning, the Hair Mat™ will re-appear after sitting a spell in the carseat. Argh! I can just hear the other parents at the grocery store thinking "why didn't that woman brush her child's hair?" ... if they only knew!
I was laughing here after reading your post, you are too funny!
Did you try that Johnson & Johnson's detangler for after the bath?

I'm kind of looking forward to having this problem with Earlygirl. Two people referred to her as "he" on Monday. While she was wearing a pink sweater.

That's so funny, because I often have the same issues with Benjamin. His hair is short so although it doesn't get tangled, it sticks up in the weirdest manner.
I like the photo you took. It could be used as blackmail when she's a teen... :)

Ha! Jacks hair is always looking like that these days. The next thing you know he will be out and about in his pjs. (Oh, wait, he already does that.) :-)

Hey, I had to stop Madeline from leaving the house in her footed sleepers with a pair of shorts over them :)

I just wish Sadie had enough hair for it to get matted down!

Jaime, I did have a bottle of the detangler, and man, did we go through it fast! I've had better luck by leaving-in a wee bit of my trusty Pantene ...
Ann, be careful what you wish for :)

Hey ~ at least there's something there to detangle LOL. And my daughter was 21 months today! Hooray for the July babes.

I can relate. Three minutes after I brush my daughters hair, her curls return to bedhead. It sometimes looks like a bird might fly out of the nest.
