My daughter hasn't paid our television much attention. It's not normally on, and when it is, she usually isn't particularly interested in the local news broadcast I try to catch between five and six in the evening. If there's a Telus commercial, she'll get kind of excited. I think she likes the music and animals that all of their ads have. I borrowed a Baby Einstein DVD from the library a few months ago, and she barely glanced at it while it was on. So I was really surprised to see her crawl up onto the sofa in our basement the other day and watch an entire episode of Teletubbies with a rapt expression, and then vigorously wave good-bye to those wiggly giggly creatures at the end fo the program. Madeline and I were playing downstairs in the morning and I was curious to see what kinds of shows little kids had to watch during the day. Chris forbade me to let her watch them again after I told him about how she'd actually paid attention to a tv program. Then yesterday, he admitted that he himself had let Madeline watch Teletubbies and that she'd been as into it as she was before! I really wonder what it is about this show in particular that has caught her attention ... I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad that my little girl likes tv ... and Teletubbies!
Nikyla liked Teletubbies too. She love singing programs and dances to them. She calls herself a ballerina, too cute. She learnt the alphabet off of a Sesame Street CD that has singing.

Benjamin loves Baby Einstein videos. I am ashamed to admit that I let him watch too much of them. Yesterday I bought him a new Baby Einstein video and he just sat there watching it. When I turned it off, he had a fit and then he bit me very hard. Ah, the joys of raising a tv addict.

i've not quite caught on with what's great about teletubbies. they seem kind of....weird. syd hasn't sat still for any tv or videos either. although, she does like turning it on and off.

Teletubbies is the only show that Abby is even remotely interested in. We tend to keep the tv on while we're in the basement (where we spend most of our time), but she doesn't pay any attention unless the Teletubbies are on. She's more interested in the actual tv, pushing the buttons or trying to grab the cords in the back, than whatever program's on.
