Madeline's favourite kind of books, at the moment, are those that have different textures to feel as part of the illustrations. She has one featuring baby animals where the text encourages the wee little reader to "pat the bunny tail gently", "stroke the kitten's soft fur", etc. One of the pages features a cute little piglet with a soft fabric on it's nose, and Chris and I showed Madeline how to rub her nose to the pig's nose, like the words say on the same page. She picked up on this pretty fast, except now, whenever I see her flipping through her book collection, she's rubbing every page with her nose - and it doesn't matter which book! It's the cutest funniest thing ever, but I do hope she out-grows this by kindergarden :)
Side Note: My friend Ada (she's a friend first, reader second!) and her husband have a new baby girl! Very excited! Hopefully will meet little Nina next weekend, if she's accepting visitors ...
Congratulations to your friend! It's always so fun and exciting welcoming in a new baby.
