A week ago, we were all in Edmonton and we stepped into a children's boutique called Bugs and Berries, just off of Whyte Ave. I had Madeline in the Ergo carrier at the time. When we got into the shop, one of the gentlemen working there immediately noticed it and asked me what kind of carrier it was. I explained that it was an Ergo, and was modeled after traditional mei tai wraps. "No" said the Bug and Berries guy, "it's a knock-off of the one we sell, and you're using it wrong!". Give me a break! Bug and Berries guy then proceeded to show me the Baby Trekkers that they sell and talk at length about how great they are. Frankly, I looked briefly into the Baby Trekker carriers. They are quite different from my carrier, contrary to what Mr. Bug and Berries thought. They are quite possibly the one carrier out there that is less stylish than the one that I have for Madeline. I still have no idea how on earth this man thought that he was going to sell us anything in his store after the comments he made! It's too bad too - they had some cute stuff ...

That is so good to know. I am looking to purchase a new carrier because Amelia has terribly out grown the sling she was used to being carried in. I was thinking about getting one of those wraps, however the one you have sounds like it is more confortable.

Hope he doesn't work on commission! I would have turned right around and headed back out the door. Jerk!
