Madeline's on the verge of out-growing her Size 1 disposable diapers that we use for outings, so I wanted to pick up a package of Size 2s while we were out today. She and I have "mom and baby" classes three mornings a week, and I'd rather not risk a poo explosion while we're at yoga or at StrollerFit. So Chris and I go to Costco to pick up a case of Huggies Size 2, figuring that a discount retailer is the best place in town to buy disposals affordably. Amid the crowds of shoppers with their carts full of frozen mini-pizzas and corndogs, there was me in the diaper aisle, scratching my head at the rows of Huggies. Size 5, 4, 3, and 1-2? What on earth is Size 1-2? Shouldn't that be Size 1.5, anyways? So, no Size 2 diapers for Madeline, just this weird half size that only fits to 15 pounds, while Size 2 fits up to 18 pounds. Even though Size 1-2 would still fit her for at least a few weeks, I didn't want to buy 266 Size 1-2 diapers just in case Madeline is 18 lbs by the time we finish the case! Oddly enough, this Size 1-2 Huggies diaper does not appear on their website - maybe it's just a Costco thing. Regardless, I was really annoyed!
We're still cloth-diapering part-time, and Madeline's out-growing her little newborn fitted diapers. I've ordered the introductory package from Mother-Ease in a bigger size to try out - it's a pretty good deal!
I used Pampers Swaddlers and used them for a year until Michelle introduced me to the Walmart brand, that have Clifford the Big Red Dog on them. They are WAY cheaper and work really well. There were a couple that gave Nikyla a rash but these ones work awesome. Michelle used them when her baby was small and no leaks or rashes either. Everyone I have told like them and have switched. Just FYI

Oh neat! Clifford the Big Red Dog - loved him when I was little! Thanks for the tip, Jaime (and Michelle - I was thinking of her and her little girl the other day!)

I only ever used LUVS. ALso from Walmart. The best inexpensive diapers on the market. The good news for me is that my 3 year old son is now officially completely potty trained.

Pampers sells size 1-2 too! That is what Karli is wearing right now. It must be something new they are doing. I am sure somewhere along the lines of screwing us consumers! LOL

First, don't I feel like a dweeb. I always thought that Size 1-2 meant that there were half of size ones and half of size twos. I thought "what a stupid idea!!" Now, I feeling kind of, well, stupid.
Second, I switched back and forth between whatever disposables people wanted to give me and I realized that I LOVE LUVS. They now have Blue on them (from Blue's Clues). It's the only diaper that I found that could withstand my daughter nasty poopies without leaking. We did use Huggies Overnights for a while.
