Another reason that caffeine is no good
It clogs garbage disposals! Yesterday I was washing the dishes after lunch and I noticed that the water in the sink wasn't draining. This happens a lot, and a few seconds of running the garbage disposal has always remedied the situation. Except yesterday, the garbage disposal wouldn't run when I flipped the switch - it just made a buzzing noise like it was jammed. Chris did a bit of research and discovered that the coffee grounds that he has been washing down the disposal each weekend aren't actually approved for use in garbage disposals! I think this is another sign that we should get a composter :)

Oh yes, compost that stuff. Worms will happily take care of that for you.

I don't have a garbage disposal or a compost thanks to living in an apartment, but I don't have any issues with sending my grinds down the drain. If it's a huge issue, you many consider dropping the grinds in the toilet and the filtre in the garbage can till you figure out if it's feasible to set up a compost system. People don't realise that to do composting properly, you need a minimum of two, if not three, compost bins. One for the first year, one for the second year, and another for the third year that eventually creates great fertilizer for your garden. And you can only compost stuff that isn't meat related or bones. Everything else that is perishable is fair game from what I understand. Good luck.
