I received this three-tier cooling rack for Christmas last year, and it took me until this December to use it and learn just how handy it is!!! I didn't have to wait at all between cookie batches for one batch to cool before unloading the next on off of the baking sheet.
As a side note, I've made about five cookie recipes and five square recipes from the One Smart Cookie cookbook, and the square recipes are much better than the cookie one. I guess that cookies just have to be fattening to be good :)

I can smell the cookies. I swear!

Actually I really like the Mexican-Chocolate cookie recipe from that book - especially with all brown sugar (instead of half brown, half white) and vanilla paste instead of vanilla extract...also, I almost bought that same cookie rack this weekend...seeing your picture makes me wish that I had...

Erin, thanks for letting me know about the new book! I took a class with Julie in the fall of 2003, and she hinted at more books, but it's certainly taken awhile!
Did you add the full amount of sugar to the chocolava cookies? I made those for a cookie exchange last year, and found them more overly-sweet than chocolately. Perhaps I should have used the *good* cocoa instead of Fry's ...
Haven't tried the Mexican Chocolate cookies, but I did peek at the recipe last night :)

Hey Laura,
I tend to follow the instructions in the Smart Cookie book to the letter because everytime I've fooled around with them the results have been very bleak. So, I put all the sugar in but I have a sweet tooth so I can't judge. They remind me of bite sized brownies.
I met Julie along time ago now through mutual friends. She's supposed to be in People coming up I hear and she was in Woman's World not too long ago. Very cool.
