I'm annoyed with the Globe & Mail right now. Saturday's edition had a holiday gift guide, and featured this nifty stove-top popcorn popper that I thought would be a fine gift for either myself or a family member. I was also delighted to learn from the article that there is a Canadian Williams-Sonoma website, which is the retailer that carries the popcorn popper. So, I wasn't really expecting to go to williams-sonoma.ca and not be able to shop on-line. Or go to the main (American) website and not be able to ship to a Canadian address. Honestly, if the Globe's gift-guide was only for shoppers in the Toronto area who have a Williams-Sonoma store, why didn't the article say that? Why did they have to mislead readers with the Canadian website? And why does Williams-Sonoma bother to operate in Canada if they can't be bothered to ship anything here? (Sorry to begin December with a vent)!

Since when does the East know the West reads their papers? Or for that matter, do they even know we exist? Try reading Flare magazine sometime...plenty of reports on T.O., a few on Vancouver. Apparently there is nothing in between.
And if you're looking for a popcorn popper, stop by Home Outfitters.

Aw, thanks for the recommendations! I have to laugh about making popcorn - my parents used to have an electric popper, and thought that microwave popcorn was a fabulous invention. Now, I pretty much grew up with popcorn coming out of the microwave, and dream of a simpler time when popcorn was popped outside of a paper bag :)
And Carolyn J - I totally hear you!

Here's a shocker: I didn't get an airpopper until I turned 16. Before that we used a pot (with a lid ;) ) on the stove. Nothing fancy. Worked like a charm too.
